Content Responsibility Terms — Gerador de Memes
Last updated: version 1.0.
1. Sole responsibility of the creator
By creating, publishing, or sharing a meme on Gerador de Memes, you declare that you are solely responsible for the content you produced: the text, any images you added, and the final combination. Gerador de Memes provides the tool and the curated template catalog; authorship of the final meme is yours.
2. Rights over the content used
By publishing, you declare that:
- you own the rights to any original image you upload, or
- you are using third-party content within the limits of parody, satire, or criticism recognized by applicable copyright law, without suggesting endorsement by the original rights holder.
Templates from Gerador de Memes official catalog already go through a provenance and risk review before going live; even so, how you use the template in your final meme remains your responsibility.
3. Prohibited content
You may not publish content that:
- is illegal under Brazilian law or the law of the country of access;
- is discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
- exposes intimate imagery of any person without their explicit consent;
- exposes an identifiable child or adolescent in a sexualized, humiliating way, or tied to a product/service;
- incites violence, harassment, or hatred against a specific person or group.
Gerador de Memes may remove any content that violates these rules, with or without prior notice, at any time.
4. Display license granted to Gerador de Memes
By publishing a meme as public or unlisted, you grant Gerador de Memes a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce at reduced size (thumbnail), and distribute that meme through the platform itself (gallery, meme page, social sharing cards) for as long as the content remains published. This license does not transfer ownership of your content nor authorize use outside of Gerador de Memes.
5. Content removal and cooperation with authorities
You acknowledge that Gerador de Memes:
- may unpublish, remove, or suspend access to any meme at any time, including in response to community reports or a rights holder's takedown notice;
- may retain access and acceptance data for this Term (including IP and user-agent) for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, under applicable data protection law;
- will comply with a court order or a competent authority's request to identify the authorship of content, when required by law.
6. Acceptance and versioning
This Term is identified by a version. Whenever the text is revised, a new version is published and you will need to accept the current version before publishing a new meme — even if you already accepted a previous version. Your acceptance is recorded with date/time, version, IP, browser (user-agent), and language, and can be reviewed by you at any time through the acceptance receipt.
